EKU football player arrested

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- An EKU football player has been arrested. The Madison County Detention Center says Patrick Graffree is charged with criminal mischief, terroristic threatening and harassing communications.

Graffree is a former University of Kentucky football player who transferred to EKU. While he was with the Colonels, he was suspended along with teammate Colton Scurry after what police describe as a bar fight and dorm fight in January 2015. Investigators say both incidents involved EKU and UK football players. Security video from the dorm fight was later released. It shows Graffree walking in, taking his shirt off then punching UK quarterback Drew Barker.

The grand jury chose not to indict anyone in the bar and dorm incidents. In July 2015, EKU announced Graffree and Scurry had met all team and school requirements and had been reinstated to the team.

EKU put out a statement on Graffree’s arrest. A portion of it says, “Police are handling the investigation of any charges against him.  With respect for the legal process, the University and athletics department will continue to monitor the situation.”
