EKU Approves 5% Tuition Increase
The Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents approved a five percent tuition increase while meeting in regular session on Monday.The board approved a 2012-13 operating budget of $235,769,831 (not including restricted funds), an increase of approximately one percent over the previous year.
State appropriations for EKU decreased 6.4 percent ($4.6 million) in the Commonwealth’s 2012-13 biennial budget. The budget does not include an across-the-board salary increase for faculty and staff.
The budget incorporates the five percent tuition increase for undergraduate tuition for Kentucky residents.
