Early morning fire destroys three homes
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Two houses were burned to the ground, and one has major damage after a fire this morning on Marlena Lane.
Lexington Fire Department says they responded to a call around 5 a.m. for a house under construction that was on fire.
Upon arrival, they say one house was completely burned, the house next to it was about to collapse, and a third was on fire.
“The first one was already on the ground when they got here, the second one was starting to collapse when they got here, and the third one was fully involved. So, I would say all three are probably a total loss at this point,” Battalion Chief Matt Galati said.
The flames were so hot that it melted the siding on the house across the street.
Officials tell us nobody was injured. They say the first two houses were under construction, and the third appeared to be unoccupied.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
