Duplex damaged by fire, two families displaced

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two families were displaced Tuesday morning  after a fire damaged a duplex in downtown Lexington.

The Lexington Fire Department says they were called to the 900 block of North Broadway around 3 a.m.

When they arrived they found the fire at the rear of the home and quickly put it out.

ABC 36 was told that at least 8 people walked away and were unharmed.

Major Chris Harrod says the home had no working smoke detectors.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
