Driver taken to hospital after crashing into utility pole in Lexington
Police say the driver fled the scene but was later found and suspected of DUI
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A driver was taken to the hospital early Friday morning after crashing into a utility pole in Lexington.
According to Lexington Police, the crash happened around 3:40 a.m. at the intersection of Walton and Cramer Avenue. Officers say the driver ran from the scene before they arrived but was later found nearby.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police say they suspect the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash.
Crews with Kentucky Utilities were called to repair the damaged pole.
