Driver killed after crash involving semi-truck in Franklin County
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – One driver is dead following an accident on I64 near Franklin County Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff, a semi-truck driver was going westbound on I64 near mile marker 49.5 just after 12 p.m. when a car cut in front of him.
The sheriff says the semi-truck driver swerved to avoid hitting the car and went into the median then into the eastbound lane.
That’s where he collided head-on with an SUV, according to the sheriff.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no word on other injuries.
