Driver hits pedestrian in Lexington, tries to drive away

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)-One person is in jail in Fayette County after police say an off duty officer saw that driver hit a pedestrian around 2:30 Sunday morning. Police say the crash happened in downtown Lexington at Main and Mill near the 21C hotel.

The driver tried to leave, according to police, but officers stopped and arrested the person for DUI. Police also say the pedestrian the driver hit walked away from the crash as they chased the driver so it is unclear how injured that person is.
