Driver accused of striking 3 pedestrians has case waived to grand jury

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man accused of driving drunk and critically injuring three people walking on a sidewalk had his case waived to a grand jury in Fayette Co. court on Tuesday.

According to police, on December 27th,  25-year-old Asiel Iraola was driving  when he missed a turn off on Winchester road and hit three men.

Officers say Iraola then hit a light pole and a street sign and continued driving.

He was arrested a shot time later on Leestown Road.

Iraola is charged with three counts of first-degree assault, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
