DPD: Woman seriously injured in sexual assault

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Danville Police say a woman was seriously injured in a sexual assault late Monday afternoon.

Police say they responded to a home on Hillcrest in reference to a possible assault.  Investigators say the woman who answered the door had been visibly beaten and was scared.  They say she motioned to officers that a suspect was hiding in the home.  A search didn’t turn up anyone.

Police say the woman was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.  Investigators say an arrest warrant was issued for Jeremiah Johnson of Danville.

Tuesday night, a tip led authorities to a Hardee’s parking lot in Junction City where Johnson was arrested without incident, according to police.  He was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.

Police say Johnson was charged with Rape (Domestic Violence) with Physical Injury, Sodomy (Domestic Violence) with Physical Injury, Assault, Unlawful Imprisonment, Burglary, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Danville Police, Boyle County Sheriff’s Office and Junction City Police were all involved in the case.
