Dozens rally in support of Kentucky’s only abortion clinic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)-

An update to a story we’ve been following all weekend here at ABC 36.

Dozens rallied Sunday afternoon outside of Louisville’s EMW Women’s Surgical Center hoping to send a message to those trying to shut it down.

Several pro-choice activists were also outside the clinic protesting for the opposite reason.

The center is Kentucky’s only abortion provider right now.

The state tried to shut it down this week, claiming it’s not meeting compliance rules.

The ACLU sued, calling the move, “An attempt to ban abortion in Kentucky.”

A federal judge granted a restraining order Friday to keep the clinic from shutting down.

That order expires in two weeks.
