“We don’t have a great football team.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – 62-42.  Just by the numbers of the final score, you might think it’s basketball season in the Bluegrass and a big 20-point win on the hardwood for the Cats.

But it’s football season…and it was a needed win for Kentucky on the gridiron.

One that had to be pulled out at the end over New Mexico State to get into the win column in 2016.

It wasn’t fun, but it was a relief.

Mark Stoops was able to smile a few times following the victory, but this week, with South Carolina coming to town, it’s back to work…quickly.
