Donations requested, to help care for rescued dogs
JESSAMINE Co. (WTVQ) — Jessamine County Animal Care and Control is asking for donations to help care for two dogs found on Wednesday.
Officials say the dogs were found by Sgt. Kacy Carter, after a report from Nicholasville came in, regarding two alarmingly thin dogs being kept outside.
Sgt. Carter says she arrived at the residence and found probable cause to confiscate the animals. After both canines were examined by a local veterinarian, they were given fluids to re-hydrate, and are currently being kept in isolation kennels with extra heaters to try to raise their body temperatures.
The Veterinarian caring for them said they plan on giving one of the dogs a blood transfusion.
JCACA says they anticipate substantial care will need to be taken to restore these dogs to good health, and that they appreciate any donation to help.
