Dog’s throat slit, animal control looking for person responsible

JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Authorities in Jessamine County are trying to find a man they believe slit a dog’s throat.

Jessamine County Animal Care and Control says officers responded to a call about a dog suffering severe cuts to its throat and body near the area of Hartley Drive and Clarence Drive on Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they discovered a 10-year-old, white, male, Boxer had been severely injured and needed medical attention.

The dog was immediately taken to a local veterinarian, where he underwent surgery.

Animal control says the dog is doing well and will continue to remain under close observation until he is reunited with his family.

Investigators are searching the area for a white male who was last seen wearing a brown long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and a knife on his belt.
