Dogs die in apartment fire in Winchester

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two dogs are dead and several people are displaced following an early-morning fire in Winchester.

Firefighters say the fire broke out at an apartment complex in the 200-block of Carolina Avenue at around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire started on the first floor of the building and then spread to the second level.

No one was injured, according to firefighters, but they say 8-10 people who lived in the apartment complex will need to find another place to stay.

There is no word on a cause.
