Dog stuck on a cliff successfully rescued
POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WQTV) – A rescue dog that were trapped on a ledge in Powell County, is now safe thanks to the efforts of multiple agencies.
The Powell County Office of Public Information posted a series of updates on their Facebook page throughout the day, regarding the dog being saved from an approximately ten foot ledge on High Rock Road. Members of the Powell County Search and Rescue, as well as the Powell County Emergency Management scaled the cliff face and rappelled down to the animal.
According to the latest social media post, the rescue was a success:
“We are happy to report that the dog trapped on the ledge has been safely returned to the ground. Here he is, posed with Powell County Animal Control Officer Randall Martin, and Powell County Emergency Management Director Steve Asbury.
Steve has decided to name him “Cliff.”
