Dog saved from Lexington house fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Firefighters pulled a dog from a house fire and resuscitated him Thursday morning.

The Lexington Fire Department says firefighters were called to the home on Judy Lane around 8:30 a.m. after a passerby noticed flames.

Firefighters say no one was home at the time but were told there could be pets inside.

Firefighters found the dog in the home, brought him out and resuscitated him with a pet resuscitation kit.

According to Lexington Fire Department Battalion Chief Brad Whittaker, the pet resuscitation kits were donated by the Lexington Kennel Club and firefighters have used them several times.

Firefighters say the home sustained heavy damage and the fire is under investigation.
