Dog rescued after being found abandoned in dumpster

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A pit bull puppy was rescued in the Cardinal Valley area after a resident heard sounds of whimpering coming from a dumpster.  According to the Lexington Humane Society (LHS), the person found the puppy tied up in a plastic bag, struggling to escape.

Humane Society workers say the dog, who they call Reba, is malnourished and suffering from rickets.  The medical team at LHS has been treating the dog’s physical and mental trauma.

If you’re interested in adopting Reba, or another animal in need of a home, you can find all the information you need at the Lexington Humane Society’s website: http://lexingtonhumanesociety.org/get-involved/adopt-love/adopt-love-dog/ .
