Blackburn inmate who walked away apprehended

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – According to Blackburn Correctional Complex Louis Stokes was apprehended on August 21 in Hart County around 2:30 p.m.
Stokes was serving a 37-year sentence for conviction out of Henderson County including Receiving Stolen Property.
He would have been eligible for parole in April 2018.

A man serving 37-years for receiving stolen property walked away from a minimum-security state prison in Lexington Sunday morning, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections. DOC officials say 41-year old Louis Stokes walked away from the Blackburn Correctional Complex around 8:15 a.m. on August 21, 2016.
His convictions were out of Henderson County. He would have been eligible for parole in April 2018, according to DOC officials.
He is 5’11,” 185-pounds with Brown hair and Green eyes.
