Dixie Magnet Elementary students showcase etiquette skills
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — A fifth-grade teacher and her students at Dixie Magnet Elementary in Lexington have been working on project-based learning.
Students were working on etiquette, concerning conversation and food.
The students went to Malones so they could showcase what they had learned.
“They’ve been doing pretty well. We took a lot of time to really set intentional conversations about what etiquette looks like as a fifth grader and what that looks like in a formal dining space and when you’re conversating with adults and other people that you may not be familiar with, and they’ve made a lot of progress so far,” said Liz Morris.
The goal of project-based learning is to benefit kids so they can have good life lessons in the future.
