Disaster Unemployment assistance is now available
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Governor Andy Beshear has announced that disaster unemployment assistance (DUA) is now available for workers in 37 Kentucky counties affected by the deadly storms in April.
The program covers individuals who lost their jobs or had their work interrupted due to tornadoes, flooding, or landslides.
Eligible applicants include farmers, the self-employed, and others not typically covered by traditional unemployment insurance. Claims must be filed through the Kentucky Career Center.
Applicants will need to provide proof of income and residency, and the deadline to apply is June 23.
