DHL plans $108 million expansion in northern Kentucky

HEBRON, Ky. (AP) — DHL Express plans to invest $108 million to expand its hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and add up to 50 jobs.

Gov. Steve Beshear announced the expansion Thursday. Beshear’s office said in a news release the company plans to add new aircraft gates, further automation and storage warehouse space.

DHL has more than 2,000 employees in northern Kentucky. It is part of Deutsche Post DHL, headquartered in Bonn, Germany. The company established its principal U.S. air hub at the airport in 2009.

Kentucky has approved tax incentives of up to $1 million for the project.
