UPDATE: Charges filed in Laurel Co. shooting

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) –  The Laurel Co. Sheriff’s Office says that 28-year-old Landon Collins, of London, has been charged in a shooting that sent two men to the hospital.

Collins has been charged with 2 counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and one count of receiving stolen property.

According to the Sheriff, Collins was at his girlfriend’s trailer, when her father and one of her father’s companions arrived.  The Sheriff says that the three got into an altercation, that ended when Collins shot the other two.

Both men are in serious condition.

The Sheriff says that a fourth person was at the trailer, whom they believe is connected to a stolen vehicle that was found on the property.  They do not believe that fourth person was connected to the shooting.

The Laurel Co. Sheriff has released new details on a shooting in Laurel Co. that sent two people to the hospital.

According to the Sheriff, two men that entered a trailer on Locust Grove Road were shot by the man living there.

No word on what happened inside the trailer that led to the men being shot.

The Sheriff says one of the men was shot in the head, and the other was shot in the stomach.  Both men were taken to a hospital in Lexington.

The man who lives in the trailer is being interviewed in connection to the shooting.  No charges have been filed at this time.

The Laurel Co. Sheriff says that two people have been taken to the hospital after a shooting.

The Sheriff says it happened Thursday morning at around 11:10 a.m. on Locust Grove Road.

The Sheriff has not released information on the circumstances of the shooting at this point, nor the names of the victims or their condition.

The Sheriff does say that a person is being interviewed in connection to the incident.
