Detectives: Montgomery County woman missing since Tuesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Montgomery County couple wants information about their missing daughter.

The sheriff’s office says Audrey Blackburn, 28, has been missing since Tuesday. Detectives say she has a history of mental illness.

Rick and Leisa Blackburn say their lives have been a bad dream that they just want to wake up from.

They say around 11:00 on Tuesday morning their daughter Audrey left their home and went for a walk. Nothing unusual about that, they say she would walk often. But that was the last time she was seen.

Her parents say she didn’t take a cell phone or any money with her. Detectives say she brought a can filled with coffee grinds and filters. They say she wanted to do a project.

Blackburn has a history of anxiety and depression according to the Sheriff’s Office. Detectives say she does not have her medication with her.

Her parents don’t think she ran off and say everything seemed fine when she left for her walk.

Blackburn graduated from Columbia University on a scholarship then worked in New York City before moving back to Kentucky.

Officers say since she had connections in New York and across Kentucky, they’re trying to nail down a search area.
Detectives are now looking through cell phone records and searched Mount Sterling by air for clues.
