Gov. Andy Beshear, Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman to headline annual Fairness Rally in Frankfort
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Governor Andy Beshear and Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman are set to headline the annual Fairness Rally at the Kentucky Capitol this week.
According to organizers, the event is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Capitol Education Center on Capital Avenue. Advocates say the rally is aimed at opposing what they describe as anti-LGBTQ legislation filed during the current session of the Kentucky General Assembly.
Supporters say the annual gathering brings together community members, lawmakers, and advocacy groups to speak about equality and civil rights issues in Kentucky. Organizers expect speakers to address current proposals being debated in Frankfort and encourage public engagement on those measures.
The rally is open to the public.
