Deputy jailers say they found drugs on suspect during booking

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Usually people are in trouble before they arrive at the jail.  In Boyle County, a man got in more trouble while being booked into the detention center.

The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Braydon Hopper and K9 Deputy Tanner Abbott pulled over a car in Danville Monday for expired registration.

The deputies say they could smell marijuana in the car, so they searched it and say they found a bag of marijuana.

Passenger Dallas Carlton, of Danville, was arrested and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center, according to investigators.

Deputy jailers say when they searched Carlton, they found marijuana, methamphetamine and psychedelic mushrooms.

Deputies say Carlton was charged with Trafficking Marijuana; Trafficking Methamphetamine; Trafficking Drug (Unspecified); Tampering with Physical Evidence; Promoting Contraband and Drug Paraphernalia.
