Deputies: Suspect stabbed mother in domestic violence incident
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says two people were arrested after a domestic violence call about a fight on Hershey Lane.
Deputies went to the home on Sunday night at around 9:30 p.m. When they got there, investigators say three people were fighting, cursing, and creating a disturbance. Deputies say the home had been damaged in the fight, and that there were kitchen knives laying in the yard, and broken glass from where windows had been broken out.
According to deputies, 35-year-old Debra Vaughn admitted that she had fought with her mother, and that she had cut her on the arm. Investigators say Vaughn was arrested and charged with assault, domestic violence, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.
Vaughn’s mother was taken to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment.
Also arrested was 37-year-old Brian Keith Lewis, who drove to the scene during the argument. Deputies say Lewis was under the influence, and that he admitted to taking Neurontin that belonged to someone else. He was charged with driving under the influence.
Both were taken to the Laurel Co. Detention Center.
