Deputies: Stolen pickups found in Laurel County barn
Deputies say the sheriff’s office was investigating a complaint about stolen property Wednesday at a home on Highway 490. Investigators say they searched a barn and found a 2004 pickup that had been partially disassembled. They say a 1998 pickup was also recovered. According to deputies, it had been taken apart and was cut into parts and pieces. Deputies say the truck’s VIN numbers had been removed and destroyed.
The sheriff’s office says 48-year-old Ronnie Davis of East Bernstadt charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more; criminal mischief – first-degree; tampering with physical evidence; and destruction of a VIN number. It says 53-year-old Timothy Fields, also of East Bernstadt, was charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more; criminal mischief – first-degree; tampering with physical evidence; and destruction of a VIN number.
Deputies say they also found trailers, four wheelers, a kayak, and other items that may be stolen.
