Deputies say man nearly hit officer with car while fleeing

MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky State Police have arrested a Paducah man they say nearly ran over a sheriff’s deputy while fleeing a traffic stop.

According to a news release, a Graves County deputy was directing traffic in Mayfield on Friday night because of a hazard. Fleeing a trooper, Noah Hill sped through town, ignoring the deputy’s order to stop. Hill nearly struck the deputy while speeding by. Hill then hit a snow embankment and fled his vehicle on foot.

Trooper Anthony Harrison caught up to Hill and was able to arrest him after using a stun gun.

Hill was taken to the Graves County Jail and charged with attempted murder of a police officer. No bond had been set on Saturday morning. No phone number was listed for him in a directory.
