Deputies: Man tried to swallow baggie of suspected meth during arrest

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Corbin man is accused of trying to swallow a plastic bag containing suspected meth as he was approached by deputies, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they answered a call about a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot off the West Cumberland Gap Parkway on Wednesday just before 1:00 a.m.

Investigators say that’s when they saw 21-year old Corey Sanders try to swallow the baggie containing the suspected meth.

Deputies say Sanders was arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence; Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense-Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was taken to jail in London.
