Deputies investigate after two car break-ins in Laurel Co.

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says deputies are investigating 2 thefts in the parking lot of the Baptist Fitness Center off of West Cumberland Gap Parkway.

The thefts happened Wednesday morning at about 10:00 a.m., according to the Sheriff.

Deputies say that two vehicles in the parking lot were broken into, and that the suspect broke out windows to get inside.  In one theft, a purse containing credit cards was stolen, and in the other, the victim is still determining what was taken.

Surveillance cameras at the fitness center captured the suspects: a woman driving a grayish silver Nissan SUV with another man inside.  Deputies say that after the thefts, the suspects when directly across the street and attempted to use a stolen credit card on the First National Bank’s ATM.

The bank manager says that surveillance footage from the bank shows the man who was involved, pictured above.
