Deputies, firefighters respond to downed aircraft at Danville-Boyle County Airport
UPDATE: 1:50 p.m. – According to the Danville Fire Department, the plane was taking off from the runway, when the pilot noticed a problem. The pilot was able to safely land the plane on a grassy area. All four people on board were able to get out of the plane with no injuries. Officials say the FAA will investigate what caused the pilot to make the emergency landing.

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Deputies with the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office and crews from the City of Danville Fire Department are on scene after an aircraft went down at Danville-Boyle County Airport (Stuart Powell Field).
Sheriff Taylor Bottom says the incident happened on airport property. Fortunately, there are no injuries to report.
Officials have not yet released information about what caused the aircraft to go down. The situation remains active as crews continue working at the scene.
