Deputies: Dog dies after being left in hot car; woman charged

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Frankfort police say a woman is charged with animal cruelty after she allegedly left a dog in a hot vehicle, causing its death.

Police say 27-year-old Stephanie Tyler told them the pit bull was being threatening towards children, so she put it in an SUV. According to officers, the vehicle’s inside temperature reached 145 degrees.

Police say Tyler is charged with second-degree cruelty to animals.
