Death of missing woman’s Father upgraded to homicide investigation
NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The shooting death of 54-year-old Tommy Ballard in Nelson County is now being investigated as a possible homicide according to the Kentucky Standard newspaper.
The paper writes two sources close to the investigation tell them that information even though State Police officially say the case is just classified as a death investigation right now. State Police say Ballard died from an accidental gunshot wound while he was hunting near Bardstown.
The Nelson County Coroner says they now know Ballard was shot in the chest and the bullet exited his back. Ballard is the father of Crystal Rogers who has been missing since last year.
