Death investigation underway after body found in pond

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says that deputies are investigating after a body was found floating in a pond off Locust Grove Road, about 9 miles west of London Tuesday morning.

The Sheriff says a neighbor discovered the body Tuesday morning at about 10:30 a.m. and contacted emergency services.

The victim has been identified as Lonnie Bores, of London.

The Laurel Co. Coroner pronounced Bores dead at the scene, but hasn’t released a cause of death.
