Louisa man killed in collision in Pike County

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person was killed and another injured in a Monday morning collision in Pike County, according to Kentucky State Police.

Investigators say 20-year old Jacob Fitch, of Louisa, was driving a 1991 Chevrolet pickup south on KY 2061, when he lost control and collided with a 2001 Peterbilt tractor-trailer that was traveling in the opposite lane.

Fitch was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KSP.  A passenger in his pickup truck, was taken to Pikeville Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to State Police.

KSP says the accident happened around 10:30 a.m.  The investigation is ongoing by KSP Accident Reconstructionist, Detective Mark Branham.

Detective Branham was assisted on scene by additional Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Gulnare Volunteer Fire Department, Coal Run Volunteer Fire Department, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
