Date announced for Capital Plaza Tower demolition

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The date is set for the implosion of the Capital Plaza Tower in Frankfort.

On Tuesday, the Finance and Administration Cabinet announced the implosion will be March 11 at 1:30 p.m.

CRM/D.W. Wilburn #2 LLC, the development and construction team for the Capital Plaza Complex redevelopment project, has contracted with Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI) for the demolition.

The Finance Cabinet says, as more details become available, meetings will be arranged with local businesses, community organizations and residents.

A new informational website, capitalplaza.ky.gov, will go live within the next two weeks.
