Daniel Boone National Forest waives fees for Veteran’s Day
WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – In honor of Veterans Day, the Daniel Boone National Forest will waive fees at most recreation and camping sites.
On November 11, all recreation sites on the forest, except for concessionaire-operated Grove Drive-In Campground, will be free to the public.
This fee waiver will continue overnight for campers at developed campgrounds and in the Red River Gorge backcountry.
“Waiving fees is just our small way of thanking our fellow Americans for their service,” said Forest Supervisor Dan Olsen. “While the fee waiver applies to all members of the public, we’d like to extend a special invitation to our veterans and their families to come explore and enjoy their public lands.”
