“Cutz and Curlz” cleans up kids for class

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Central Kentucky students are getting ready to head back to class, and the girls and boys around Clark Co. are going back with a fresh haircut.

Today was the second year for “Cutz and Curlz,” an event that gives free haircuts to children between 5 and 17.

Marvin King, the pastor at First Baptist Church of Winchester, says the event is,”awesome. I think one of the most fulfilling feelings you can ever feel is to see the joy that you give to a child. To watch their self esteem to grow, to watch their faces brighten, to watch them feel good about themselves.”

Meanwhile, just outside of the event, the group also hosted a bicycle safety course.
