Cumberland County woman charged with murder after husband found shot at crash scene
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Cumberland County woman is facing a murder charge following a deadly shooting involving her husband, according to Kentucky State Police.
Troopers say deputies initially responded Tuesday evening to Red Banks Road for a reported single-vehicle crash.
When they arrived, they found 60-year-old James Edens suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the shooting happened during a verbal altercation between Edens and his wife prior to the crash.
Authorities have charged Heather Edens with murder. She is currently being held in the Adair County Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
