Cruiser collision – two injured
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Richmond Police Sergeant is in stable condition on Wednesday, after a 3 p.m. collision with a truck, reports Register News.
Register quoted Police Chief Larry Brock in saying a truck collided with the sergeant’s cruiser when the driver suffered a medical emergency and “blacked out” while turning onto Foxhaven Drive from Lexington Road.
Police said the truck had slammed into the driver’s side rear door of the cruiser, before hitting an electric pole and stopping in a business’s lawn. The cruiser, they say, had been “whipped around” 180 degrees, and “Suffered a lot of damage”.
Sgt. Brian reported having a sore back after the collision, Register added, and was taken to Baptist Health Richmond for treatment.
Police said the driver was awake before being transported to the hospital, and able to speak with medical personnel, though his current condition has not been announced.
