Criminal abuse charges for 2 in Richmond

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Richmond husband and wife were charged with criminal abuse of a teenager on Tuesday, according to the Richmond Police Department.

Officers say they began the investigation on 44-year-old Clyde Richardson and 45-year-old Michelle Richardson after receiving information from the Department of Community Based Services (DCBS) alleging abuse.  Police say during the investigation, they found that Clyde Richardson had hit the teen in the head, resulting in two black eyes and bruising of the scalp.

Investigators say Michelle Richardson knew about the abuse, but didn’t take any action to stop it.

Both were charged with criminal abuse and taken to the Madison Co. Detention Center.

An investigation into the abuse remains ongoing.
