Crews sent to fire at UK Good Samaritan Hospital
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Firefighters were sent to UK Good Samaritan Hospital on Thursday afternoon for a fire in a mechanical room.
According to the Lexington Fire Department, the fire has been extinguished and no one was injured.
The fire began with electrical panel issues in the room on the ground floor, causing that floor to be evacuated.
About 19 units were called to the scene around 12:30 p.m.
New emergency room patients are being diverted to Chandler Hospital.
All other critical functions of the hospital are operational and officials are working to resolve water problems on the ground floor, University of Kentucky wrote in a post on social media.
An investigator is working to determine the cause and origin.
The hospital is located at 310 South Limestone.
