Crews from Kentucky head to Florida to help
FRAKNFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)-Help is on the way from Kentucky to Florida as Hurricane Irma moves through.
A crew from the Frankfort Plant Board headed to Clewiston Sunday morning to help with Hurricane Irma efforts.
Irma’s strong winds are impacting the power infrastructure in parts of the state.
FPB crews will be on the scene Monday afternoon to start the process of restoring service.
The crew loaded three trucks and a pickup truck with food, water and as many materials as they could haul.
Crews plan to ride out the storm in northern Florida until conditions become calmer Monday.
The crew plans to be in Florida anywhere from seven to 15 days.
