Crash Snaps Pole In Half

A Lexington road was still closed Wednesday morning after a suspected drunk driving crash overnight.

It happened around midnight on East Maxwell Street, near Kentucky Avenue.

Police said Camilla Roberson, 34, was drunk when she ran her vehicle into a pole, snapping it in half.

The vehicle flipped onto its side and Roberson was trapped inside.

Police said witnesses helped pull her from the wreckage.

No one was hurt in the crash and Roberson was arrested on the scene for DUI.

Maxwell was still closed Wednesday morning until KU workers could repair the damage.
