Crash sends 19 students, bus driver to hospitals

LOUISIVLLE, Ky. (AP) — Jefferson County Public Schools say a crash involving a bus has sent 19 students and the bus driver to hospitals with what appear to be minor injuries.

JCPS spokeswoman Mandy Simpson told media that the bus was carrying 36 students Friday morning when the crash occurred. Media report that a semi-truck rear-ended the bus, which then hit a police car with two officers inside. Neither officer was injured.

Simpson said the students on the bus were headed to 15 different elementary schools.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
