Crash involving Kentucky State Police cruiser disrupts traffic in Richmond

RICHMOND, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A crash involving a Kentucky State Police cruiser caused traffic disruptions Thursday in Richmond.

According to the Richmond Police Department, the crash happened on Lexington Road at Interstate 75 near Exit 90.

Officials say the overpass was shut down while the department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene.

Drivers heading westbound toward Keeneland Drive and White Hall Elementary were diverted onto Interstate 75, while those traveling eastbound into Richmond were temporarily unable to turn left onto the interstate.

Authorities have not released details about possible injuries, and the investigation remains ongoing.
