“Cram The Cruiser” Events Across Central Kentucky

You might’ve seen state troopers throughout Kentucky at area Kroger stores Sunday.

They were working to "Cram the Cruiser". The annual food drive works to help families in need during the holiday season. The total goal for Central Kentucky is 25,000 pounds of food.

"It’s really exciting to see the community come out and see their support because realistically we’re just showing up and we’re providing a place and an opportunity. None of this would be possible without true community support and people showing up and making donations," said Trooper Robert Purdy.

The campaign runs through the 16th of December.

Food collection sites have been set up at all 16 posts throughout the state. Suggested donations include canned fruit and vegetables, canned meat, macaroni and cheese, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, chili or spaghetti sauce, brownie and cake mixes, coffee, water, powdered milk and juices.
