Cow roams around UK campus

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – Some UK students got a close-up lesson in agriculture, when a steer got loose on campus.

According to UK police, the animal got loose while being unloaded at the Garrigus animal facility around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.  From there, the animal roamed around Cooper Drive, past Sports Center Drive and High Street, before being captured near Scoville Drive. 

Cooper Drive was closed from around 10:30 a.m. to just before noon.  A team of animal handlers from Bluegrass Stockyards were able to finally capture the steer.
