Court orders Lexington roofing company to halt operations during AG investigation

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman says a judge has ordered Lexington Blue, a roofing company, to stop all operations and marketing while the Attorney General’s Office investigates alleged unlawful business practices.

The order, issued by Fayette Circuit Court Judge Diane Minnifield, also freezes the company’s financial assets, including corporate and personal accounts, and prohibits any transfer or liquidation of funds.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, more than 70 consumers have filed complaints stating they paid deposits for roof construction projects that were never completed. The office’s complaint alleges that in 2024, Lexington Blue accepted $4.8 million for over 300 projects—many of which remain unfinished.

“We are constantly on guard against predatory organizations that try to take advantage of Kentuckians, and we will hold these bad actors accountable,” said Attorney General Coleman in the release.

The Office of Consumer Protection is leading the case, with support from the AG’s Senior Protection and Mediation division.

Anyone who believes they’ve been affected is encouraged to contact the Attorney General’s Office at 888-432-9257.
