Couple spreads awareness over organ donations through their love story

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — They say love can come in any way, shape or form, and sometimes you may find it in the places you least expect.

“We met in May of 2022, and it was like a lot of people meet nowadays online. And we talked for just a couple of weeks time before we met. We actually talked about our connection with organ donation just briefly. And our connection that we had both suffered loss,” says Robyn Songbird, as she reflects on their love story.

Robyn lost her husband to a brain hemorrhage, her husband was an organ donor and through his donation, he helped save countless lives.
The loss was immense for Robyn, but she found comfort in how her husband helped save others.

“I felt like I had a lot of life left to live and a lot of life left to give,” adds Robyn.

Robyn and Justin later realizing how much they had in common, one could say, it was fate that brought them together.

“God brought us together, so we could get back to each other through our love story,” also added Robyn.

Justin her current partner, also had a rough path, he found himself on the transplant list when his kidney’s shut down.
In 2005, he was called in to receive a new one.

“It’s heart wrenching to say goodbye to someone at their last moment, but to know that they can give life to someone else, and this is the life that they help save,” said Robyn.

For Robyn and Justin, it was another chance at love for one another chance at life for the other.

“It’s hard for me to express how much I love her. She just just from the moment I met her from from us talking and becoming kind of becoming friends and knowing I just just love her to death to life,” added Justin.
